As it's terribly easy to stick a horn on a white horse and call it a unicorn, this fantasy mainstay has suffered a huge drop in diversity. Where dragons go from strength to strength, developing new forms all the time as artists explore the possibilities, unicorns have become a bit rote, even... boring. But dig a little deeper, and you'll find artists who embrace the older, pre-Hollywood unicorn, and even invent new species to marvel at.
